Friday 8th September saw youth mentor training for the newest cohort of mentors at The Leigh UTC.
Facilitated by Kevin Nutter and Anna Wilton of the Students Services team, new mentors were given a comprehensive grounding on the work that they will be doing with our students.
Within a highly interactive session, delegates from a wide range of businesses including Thames Water and Metro Bank were able to meet each other and discuss how they will bring their industry, and indeed life expertise, to bear in supporting our students.
“The UTC mentoring programme is now firmly embedded into our programmes, the role of the mentor is acknowledged as pivotal in raising aspirations. It was a real pleasure to meet our new mentors for 2017/18 bringing a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the role. It is yet another example of business and education working in partnership at The Leigh UTC” Steve Leahey, Principal.
Thank you to all involved.
