Following on from mentor training on Wednesday 5th December, Halley Academy is delighted to now have its first cohort of STEM mentors who will begin working with year 12 science and engineering students in January 2019.

Pictured with mentor scheme lead, Rasheeda White of the academy’s sixth form student services, the group proved themselves to be truly inspirational in stating their reasons for wanting to volunteer.

Sincere thanks go to Halley Academy governor, Gabriella Belgrave and the London STEM hub for spreading the word on this new scheme and helping to contact potential new mentors.

Halley Academy further looks forward to a second training session early in January 2019 where more new mentors from the London STEM hub and The Tallow Chandlers Livery Company, with whom the academy have an ongoing relationship, will further swell the numbers of business people working with students.
