Project Based Learning Week
As part of Wilmington Academy’s project based learning week, Year 12 students were put through their interview paces by local business employers. Prior to the session, students were asked to ‘apply’ for various job roles including a graphic designer, accounts trainee, marketing assistant, and civil engineer. Students prepared for their interviews, much in the same way as they would any other interview: by updating their CVs, tailoring covering letters, and researching the business and job role.
Mock Panel Interviews
This was all in the lead up to students taking part in mock panel interviews with local business employers: Rob Brack from Nice Guys Group (www.niceguysgroup.com), Alan Fletcher from Alan Fletcher Solutions (www.alanfletchersolutions.co.
Although all students gave an excellent and professional account of themselves, standout winners on the day were: Jarod Hiseman and Morgan Seamons.
“I thought that the whole interview process was very useful. It helped me gain useful tips, which I can use in future interviews to give me an advantage over other candidates. I definitely feel more confident in my approach to future interviews.” – Nick Denney, Year 12
A huge thank you to Louisa Felstead for organising the event, and for Rob, Alan and Peter, for giving up their valuable time in order to facilitate this experience for our students.
