As part of National Apprenticeships week, groups of year 12 and year 11 students at Strood Academy participated in presentations by Rebekah Shaxted of KATO.
Rebekah ran over many aspects of what an apprenticeship involves and what the levels of apprenticeship available equate to and what an employer will look for from an apprentice. She stressed the importance of having suitable relevant work experience and demonstrating work readiness.
Throughout, she commented upon the many options that students can exploit including apprenticeships, going to university or straight into employment.
For those who would like to consider an apprenticeship as their next career pathway, she showed students where to find relevant future opportunities.
