High achieving Year 10 students and their parents were invited to an informational evening on the 14th July. Mr Lever, Miss Yearsley and Miss Marlborough enlightened families upon the best ways to study to achieve the best GCSE results for their futures. Advice included study techniques including those best aligned to learning styles and much, much more.

Guest presenter, Paul Andrews, CEO of Jobs in Kent ended the evening with an inspirational speech on the changing nature of employment encouraging students to aspire to achieve and to be the best that they can. Paul’s comments were “Last night I had a great time talking with parents and students from Longfield Academy about the world of work. A group of high achieving, high potential students gathered to hear about options for GCSE, further education, apprenticeships and university. I met some really talented young students”.

Parents and students were highly engaged and listened intently throughout the evening. They continued to speak to Mr Andrews for almost an hour after the session had ended, asking that he return to further enlighten them.
