A number of the Trust students from Year 10/11 attended the Kent County Council Careers Convention, which took place at Northfleet Youth Hub on the 7th of March 2017.

There was a wide range of Further Education Colleges, Employers and Training Providers attending the event giving the students additional options to consider at the end of Year 11.

The students were all encouraged to talk to the participants and every student had a card and they were encouraged to have the exhibitors stamp the card if they considered the training provision would be of interest to them following year 11.

The training providers and employers will be following all of the interested students up so that all of the students have positive outcomes when they leave the Trust at the end of Year 11.

The students gained a huge amount by looking at a wide range of opportunities. It helped the students look at other options that they had not previously considered.

A worthwhile trip for the students and the Leigh Academies Trust will definitely be supporting the event again in 2018.  One of the Trust Academies would like to take up to 60 students next year.
