Thirty plus businesses recently attended the first business breakfast of the new academic year at the Leigh UTC. Delegates were afforded a high quality opportunity to network with each other and discover what the benefits are in working with the academy.


Topics at the breakfast included the current engineering apprenticeship offering, forthcoming I.T apprenticeships, the Leigh UTC’s unparalleled business mentoring scheme and what it is to be a UTC. Current year 11 students described their journey at the UTC whilst year 13 students presented on the Green Power Challenge.


Steve Leahey, Principal of the Leigh UTC elaborated upon expansion with the future build of the Inspiration Academy and the desire to inspire more female engineers for the future. The breakfast ended with a full tour of the academy site.
